Getting to the workshop
The Champions for Change workshop is being held in The Chan Centre for Family Health Education Auditorium at the Child & Family Research Institute (CFRI).
CFRI is located at 938 West 28th Avenue in Vancouver on the same site as BC Women’s and Children’s Hospitals. Please use Entrance #18. The auditorium will be on your left as you enter the building.

Arriving on the Canada Line Skytrain
1. Take the Canada Line skytrain to King Edward Station (Cambie Street and King Edward Avenue).
2. Walk west on King Edward Avenue to Heather Street. Turn left (south) onto Heather Street.
3. Walk south along Heather Street and turn left (west) onto 28th Avenue.
4. At the 28th Avenue entrance, turn left (south) onto the hospital/health centre/CFRI site.
5. Follow the sidewalk as it veers around the buildings to the right. Enter CFRI at Entrance #18 under the overhang with the sign “Child and Family Research Institute”. The auditorium will be on your left.
1. Use the “Trip Planner” on the http://www.translink.ca/ webpage to find your transit route to the hospital/health centre/CFRI site. Enter “938 W 28th Ave, Vancouver” as your destination.
2. Choose the route that includes the #17 bus on Oak Street stopping at Nanton Avenue. Follow the path up the hill (north of the BC Women’s/ BC Children’s Hospital sign).
3. The first building on your left is CFRI. Enter at Entrance #18 under the overhang with the sign “Child and Family Research Institute”. The auditorium will be on your left.
Driving and Parking
Parking on the Oak Street site campus can be challenging. Please allow plenty of extra time for locating a spot and for walking across the large campus. Do not park in areas designated as “patients only”. The lots are patrolled to ensure designated areas are used properly.
Pay parking is in effect 24 hours a day and all prices are subject to change.
Hourly/daily rates: $3.75 per hour or $15 per day
*Note: Street parking is very limited. Parking on most streets surrounding the hospital is reserved for residents only.
